About Gennaro
Gennaro Cimafonte, born in 2013 in Salento, Italy, is an emerging young pianist and composer based in London. Initially drawn to music through opera, his passion shifted toward piano and composition by 2021, when he began self-teaching piano and composition using Puccini's Tosca. He later studied formally with Olga Adamovich, earning his ARSM piano diploma within two years, before beginning advanced training at a world-class junior conservatoire in London.

As a composer, Gennaro wrote his first Prelude in C-sharp minor in 2024, followed by the award-winning Rondò in C-sharp minor in 2025, for which he received the prestigious Young Composer Award from the Brooklyn Music Teachers Guild (BMTG) 7th Intercontinental Music Competition, earning him a featured performance at Carnegie Hall, New York in November 2025. He currently studies composition with film composer Prof. Enrica Sciandrone and is preparing for advanced conservatoire study.

Gennaro has also achieved notable success in international piano competitions, including 2nd prizes at the XI Stockholm International Music Competition and the Vienna International Arts Festival, where he also received an Outstanding Talent Award. He made major appearances at Klassiek op het Amstelveld and Piano City Napoli and reached the semi-finals of the Globe International Piano Competition.
